Dustin McKenzie-Hubbard first approached DNV to see what options were available to him to make his dream of owning his own business a reality.   A working relationship was quickly formed with the business services department to access coaching and advisory services as well the EBD program to offset the start up costs associated with starting a new business.  As a youth applicant Dustin was able to access contribution dollars from the EBD program which greatly reduced his requirement for loan financing.  Dustin also accessed our loan financing department which also added to streamlining the process of his business development. 

Dustin is now the owner of Husky Appliance Repair, a Whitehorse based company that is servicing and repairing small consumer appliances all over the Yukon. The business promotes maintaining small appliances rather than replacing them by keeping costs low and service times minimal. This is not only better for his customers, but it is also better for the environment by keeping more small appliances out of our landfills.
